LEESBURG - A traffic stop led to the arrest of two Kosciusko men Friday night.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Andrew Joseph Kneller, 39, of Silver Lake, and Gabriel Raymond Fields, 26, of Warsaw, were arrested on drug charges after they allegedly had a working methamphetamine lab in the back of a pickup truck.Kosciusko County Sheriff's Deputy Shane Bucher stopped the pickup for speeding on Armstrong Road just east of Leesburg. As he made the stop, Bucher noticed a strong chemical odor.

The men told Bucher they had been fishing, but Bucher did not find any fishing equipment in the vehicle.

Then Cpl. Kevin Gelbaugh arrived at the scene, assisting Bucher. The officers reportedly found what they believed were two methamphetamine labs and several items associated with the production of methamphetamine.

The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force was called to the scene, and Kneller and Field were taken to the Kosciusko County Jail.

Kneller was booked into the jail for possession of legends or precursors to manufacturing methamphetamine. His bond was set at $2,000.

Fields was arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine and on a warrant for probation violation and is being held in the jail without bond.

The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force was assisted at the scene by the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team.
