A traffic stop Sunday at 6 p.m. led to the arrest of two individuals on methamphetamine charges.
An officer from the Winona Lake Police Department was working an Operation Pull Over traffic blitz. The officer observed a vehicle matching a report from the Warsaw Police Department involving unauthorized control of a vehicle. The officer conducted a traffic stop near County Farm Road and CR 400S and immediately noticed items inside the vehicle associated with the production of methamphetamine.
Drug task force officers arrived and arrested Sarah Elizabeth Hein, 31, of 1363 S. CR 450E, Pierceton, and preliminarily charged her with felony manufacturing and possession of methamphetamine.
Richard Raymond Holbrook, 36, of 1202 E. Wooster Road, Winona Lake, was also in the vehicle and arrested for felony manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Holbrook's 14-year-old son was also in the vehicle, and officers additionally charged Holbrook with neglect of a dependent after finding various methamphetamine precursors, syringes, finished methamphetamine and an ACL generator used to produce meth. Child Protective Services were contacted in reference to the juvenile who was placed with a grandmother.
Hein and Holbrook are both being held on $20,000 bonds.
The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team was called to the scene to remove the hazardous chemicals.
Also assisting the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force were officers from Warsaw, Syracuse, Winona Lake and the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
