Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Arrests

Posted
On Sunday at approximately 8:04 p.m., Warsaw police made a traffic stop off of Kings Highway on a vehicle traveling with white light emitting from the rear of the vehicle.

A routine check of the driver, Gregory D. Snelling, 23, of 517 Fulton Ave., Rochester, found his driving privilege to be suspended.

Two other occupants were in the blue Honda Accord, and consent to search the vehicle was obtained from the rear seat passenger, whose wife owned the vehicle.

The search produced a black bag from under the driver’s seat that contained approximately one gram of what was believed to be methamphetamine. Also located were four burnt pipes, a coffee filter and a straw that all had white powdery substance on it.

Interviews with the occupants indicated that the substance was methamphetamine, which was verified with field test kits.

All three of the occupants were booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and on misdemeanor charges of possession of paraphernalia.

Besides Snelling, those arrested were Howard P. Lambert, 47, of 412 Walnut St., Akron; and Brent S. Sherow, 21, of 1219 Marilyn Avenue, Winona Lake.

Lambert’s and Sherow’s bonds were set at $5,000; Snelling’s was set at $2,000.
