Traffic Signal To Be Installed On Ind. 15

Warsaw is partnering with Da-Lite Screen and Thompson Thrift Developers to install a traffic signal on Ind 15.
During its meeting Monday, Warsaw Redevelopment Commission signed an amendment to an existing agreement for the installation of a traffic signal at Ind. 15 and CR 300N for $207,000.
Warsaw will pay $72,000 for the work, Da-Lite will pay $55,000 and Thompson Thrift will pay $80,000.
Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer said the engineering on the project is not complete yet, and a timeframe for completion of the project has not yet been established.
Thallemer said the need for the signal is to accommodate traffic flow.
The second phase of the Thompson-Thrift project with installing retail stores has increased traffic as well as traffic from Madison Elementary.
“A safety issue is created with school buses pulling out on 15,” Thallemer said.
Thallemer said Indiana Department of Transportation at first did not feel a traffic signal was warranted after doing traffic counts, but now with the increased traffic from the retail lot and school, a light would be warranted.
