Warsaw Traffic Safety Commission approved a proposal to improve the ingress and egress along the newly designated one-way on Dubois Drive Monday.
A& Z Engineering provided a proposal and recommendations to improve the ingress and egress.
After discussion, traffic member Dan Robinson made a motion to accept the recommendations presented by A & Z with changes.
Changes include eliminating the proposed stop sign at the intersection of Provident Drive and Dubois Drive for east bound traffic, leaving the current yield sign and adding a supplemental sign indicating the oncoming westbound traffic does not stop.
Other changes include adding directional lane signs for northbound traffic on Parker Street and installing a stop bar and yield pavement marking for the northbound left turn lane at the Parker and Dubois intersection. Another change is requiring future review by the traffic commission regarding signage.
Robinson shared his concern regarding the Provident Drive and Springhill Road intersection road width and the ability for vehicles to make appropriate turns within the roadway.
Warsaw Police Department Lt. Kip Shuter said he has been in contact with Indiana Department of Transportation regarding a dedicated right turn for Springhill at U.S. 30.
The matter will be reviewed by Warsaw City Council for funding and priority.
The commission will meet again Oct. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at WPD.
