Tracey Ann Yeager, 42, of Winona Lake, met her Savioar at 8:50 p.m. May 31, 2010, in her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., one of three children of Fred C. Fuchs and Sara Lewitzke. She was the beloved wife of Steve Yeager for 15 years.
She graduated from D.C. Everest High School, Wausau, Wis., in 1986. She accepted an appointment to and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1990, becoming a Naval Officer. She served in the U.S. Navy as a CH-46 (helicopter) Pilot, earned the rank of lieutenant and was honorably discharged in 1999, to begin her new and most honored role as a stay-at-home mom. Steve, Tracey and their first child moved to Winona Lake in 2000. She was most recently a member of Christ's Covenant Church, Winona Lake, and was a longtime member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.
She exuded life, love, faith and enthusiasm. These qualities, as well as her sense of humor and genuine compassion for others, naturally drew people to her. She was a close friend to so many people throughout her memorable life. Even during her most difficult times, she inspired countless people with her encouraging attitude and unwavering faith in her Savior.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Steve; her young children Samuel, Rachel and Jack; a sister, Sara (and spouse Andy) Lee, Pasadena, Calif.; a brother, Steven (and spouse Karyn) Fuchs, Meridian, Miss.; and countless other loving family members and friends who were blessed to know her.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Christ's Covenant Church, 2090 E. Pierceton Road, Winona Lake, officiated by Pastor Larry McCall. A private graveside service will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites by members of American Legion Post 49 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1126, both in Warsaw.
Calling is from 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
