Halloween is on a Friday night this year - giving the ghouls and goblins ample time to get out and grab some candy without fear of school the morning after.
Local towns and cities have set their trick-or-treat hours to try to rein in the mischief and haunting. Times and dates are:
Warsaw, 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31. In addition, the Warsaw Community Development Corp. Spooktacular is Oct. 24. Beginning at 4:30 p.m. Friday, the following streets will be closed for the annual Downtown Halloween Spooktacular: Center Street from Lake to Indiana streets and Buffalo Street from Market to Main streets. These streets will be closed for the duration of the festivities. Any questions, call 267-6419.
Claypool, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Oct. 31.
Etna Green, 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31.
Mentone, 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31.
Milford, 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31.
North Manchester, 5 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31.
North Webster, 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31.
Pierceton, 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31.
Silver Lake, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Oct. 31.
Syracuse, 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31. Also, the Syracuse Community Center and Lakeland Youth Center are co-sponsoring Halloween activities Oct. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the community center. In the gym there will be games and prizes. One of the halls will be decorated as a "haunted cemetery."
