NOTICE OF OFFERING FOR SALE OF UNWANTED REAL ESTATE BY THE TOWN OF SIDNEY

BEFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF SIDNEY, INDIANA
IN RE: SALE OF UNWANTED REAL ESTATE BY THE TOWN OF SIDNEY
To the citizens of the Town of Sidney, Indiana, you are hereby notified that on June 10, 2019, the Town Council of the Town of Sidney, Indiana, adopted a resolution authorizing the sale of certain real estate owned by the Town of Sidney to abutting land owners pursuant to the authority of Indiana Code 36-1-11-5.
The property proposed to be sold is as follows:
Parcel 1:
Lots 101, 102 & part of lots 111 & 112 original plat, for an offering price of $6,000.
Parcel 2:
Lots 91, 92, 93 & 94 Stumpff & Snell addition to the Town of Sidney, for an offering price of $6,000.
The property to be sold, pursuant to statute, may not be sold to a person who is ineligible under section 16 of Indiana Code 36- 1-11; The Town has determined that the highest and best use of each of tracts will be sale to an abutting land owner; the Town has determined that the cost to the public of maintaining the tracts is equal to or exceeds the estimated fair value of each of the tracts, and this it is economically unjustifiable to sell the tract pursuant to Indiana Code 36-11-5-4, which would require significant expenditures for appraisals and other procedures.
Abutting land owners will have ten (10) days after the date of publication of this notice to tender an eligible offer to purchase either tract or both tracts at or in excess of the offering price to the Town of Sidney, c/o Clerk-Treasurer's Office, 104 Monroe Street-Sidney, Pierceton, IN 46562, in writing.
Thereafter, the Town reserves the right to sell either or both tracts in accordance with the statute.
