PUBIC HEARING NOTICE NOTICE OF GRANT MODIFICATION On or about, June 2nd, 2009, the Town of Mentone intends to apply to Grant Services for a modification to its Community Focus Fund grant. This program is funded by the Small Cities Community Development block Grant program through Title 1 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. These funds are to be used for economic development, public facilities and housing projects. The purpose of this application was for the Town of Mentone's Library/Senior Center/Daycare. The Town of Mentone proposes to Modify the grant to serve 170 Senior Citizen and 0 Daycare beneficiaries from 2005 Modification allowing for 77 Senior Citizen beneficiaries and 24 Daycare beneficiaries. The reason for the Modification is due to the deteriorated economy which as eliminated may employment opportunities for families needing daycare. The Town of Mentone will hold a public hearing on June 1, 2009, at 7:00 P.M. in the Town Hall located at 201 W. Main Street to provide citizens an opportunity to express their views on the modification request, community development and housing needs, past community development and housing activities and the Library/Senior Center/Daycare needs. This grant was originally awarded on January 24, 2002, for $500,000.00. If approved, this modification request will not change the grant amount. In the following activities; Sanitary Sewers. Records regarding the accounting of these beneficiaries and funds are available from the address listed below. Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing or by prior written statement. A plan to minimize displacement and provide assistance to those displaced has been prepared and is available to the public. There will be no displacement. The grant modification application will be available for review and comment May 28, 2009.
