SYRACUSE - There's been another resignation in Syracuse town government.
Town councilman Brian Antonides resigned from his post June 29. He was elected to the seat last year, taking office Jan. 1.
According to Kosciusko County Republican Party Chairman Mike Gavin, a caucus to replace Antonides will be held July 22 at 7 p.m. in the Syracuse Town Hall. All precinct committeemen have been notified.
Any interested Republicans in the position have to live in the town limits and in District 5. Declaration of candidacy forms are due to Gavin by July 19. Gavin's mailing address is 85 S. Hunter's Ridge, Warsaw, IN 46582.
Declaration of candidacy forms are available at the county clerk's office. If only one person files for the position, Gavin said, no caucus will be held.
Gavin said the reason Antonides gave for his resignation was with Antonides' work schedule, he couldn't fulfill his duties.
Antonides could not be reached for comment this morning.
In December, councilwoman Carol Koble resigned after being re-elected in November. Cassie Cowan was selected to replace Koble.
Last month, town manager Brian Redshaw resigned, effective Sept. 1.
