Touch Of Kindness

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

I was standing in line at Aldi on Friday afternoon. In the next lane over, an elderly woman watched as a man unloaded his cart and placed a bouquet of flowers on the conveyor belt for his sweetheart. She struck up a conversation with him and said wistfully, "I don't have anyone to buy me flowers for Valentine's Day anymore." As they continued their conversation, he snuck an extra bouquet from the stand and placed it with his groceries.

After he paid for it, he handed it to her and said, "Happy Valentine's Day." Her whole face lit up as she thanked him over and over. I left the store in tears, grateful that I had been privileged to watch that touching scene.

God bless that man for his wonderful act of kindness!
