Total Loss

Posted

A fire at the Larry Criswell residence on Jefferson Street in Leesburg Tuesday afternoon resulted in a total loss of property. The Leesburg Fire Department, with assistance from the Milford Fire Department, was on the scene for about three hours. The fire possibly started because of an electrical malfunction and was discovered when Mrs. Criswell returned home about 1:13 p.m. and saw smoke rising from behind a couch. She called 911 and left the residence. The home was engulfed in fire when firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross at Warsaw is assisting the family with clothing and other needs. To make a donation, call 267-5244. Also, a fund has been set up at National City Bank and friends of the family plan to go door-to-door Saturday to solicit donations to be placed in the fund. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
