Christopher Kauffman is the valedictorian and Crystal Yoder the salutatorian for Triton Jr.-Sr. High School's class of 2002.
Kauffman is president of Triton's chapter of National Honor Society and an officer in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a Presidential Academic Award winner, achieved the all-A Honor Roll each grading period this year and was selected by teachers as the top student in mathematics and social studies.
The son of Roger and Ruth Kauffman, Bourbon, he was a state semifinalist earlier this year for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award, which nationally recognizes outstanding seniors in athletics, academics and leadership.
Kauffman plans to attend Cedarville University and study accounting.
Yoder was selected for the rural Health Scholar Program at Indiana State University. This four-year program, which encourages students from rural communities to enter the field of medicine, pays full tuition at Indiana State and guarantees her a spot at Indiana University's medical school as long as she maintains at least a 3.5 GPA and achieves average or above-average scores on the MCAT, an admissions test for medical school.
The daughter of Jerry and Cindy Yoder of Etna Green, she is a Presidential Academic Award recipient, vice president of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, member of the Health Careers Club and a three-year member of National Honor Society.
