Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
Officials are seeking information about the proper resting place for a tombstone found along a county road.
The item was found Monday evening and is currently at the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department. Police do not know what cemetery it came from and are hoping the public can help identify where it belongs.
The stone includes the following information: "Josie M., daughter of A. & M. Carteaux, died Oct. 30, 1894, aged 1 year, 8 months."
It was found on a retaining wall along CR 300E at a bridge north of Old Road 30.
Anyone who knows where the stone belongs can contact the sheriff's department at 267-5667.
