Everett and Marie Tom, Leesburg, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Friday. Everett and the former Marie Eby were married Dec. 6, 1953, at Bethany Church of the Brethren, New Paris. The couple have been lifelong farmers in the area. They also had The Prairie House Bed & Beakfast for many years. Everett still operates a cow calf operation. They are the parents of four children: Kip Tom (and Marcia McNagny), Leesburg; Melinda (and spouse Russ) Woda, Powell, Ohio; Melissa (and spouse Ray) Gerber, Milford; and Melodie (and spouse Scott) Thompson, Fort Wayne. They also have 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The coupled celebrated their anniversary Saturday with a family get-together and dinner in Fort Wayne, and a trip to Tennessee.
