Tippy Valley Netters Slide Past Triton

BOURBON - Tippecanoe Valley defeated Triton on Wednesday 3-2.

Eric Love won at No. 1 singles over John Heck 6-4, 6-3 for Valley.

Triton was led by Adam Heckaman's 6-0, 6-1 win over Jeremy Shambaugh at No. 3 singles.

Valley (6-2, 1-0) will be at the Triton Invitational on Saturday. Triton will be at Jimtown today at 4:30 p.m.

At Waterloo, Nicole Pope scored the only goal of the game on a Megan King assist as the Warriors defeated DeKalb on Wednesday.

Wawasee (2-6) will be at Concord on Saturday at 9 a.m.

• Boys Soccer

Columbia City 1, Wawasee 0

At Columbia City, Columbia City scored the only goal of the game with less than two minutes to play to win on Wednesday.

Wawasee had 24 shots compared to just 11 for Columbia City.

Wawasee (2-8) will host Warsaw at 11:30 a.m.

• Cross Country

Boys: Triton 21, Rochester 36, Valley 100;

Girls: Valley 39, Rochester 42, Triton 42

At Rochester, Mason McIntyre took first place by more than a minute as the Triton boys routed Rochester and Valley on Wednesday. On the girls' side, Shelly Miller placed first overall for Triton, but the Trojans could still only tie for second.

Valley was led by Kevin Hileman in 13th place on the boys side. Tamar Strohschein placed fourth overall on the girls side for the Vikings.

Triton and Valley will be at the New Prairie Invitational on Saturday.
