PERU — The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team reached the 14-win mark for the first time since the 2006-07 season following its 54-40 win Monday at Peru.
The win leaves Valley with a 14-5 record going into their regular season finale Thursday at home against South Bend Clay.
Against Peru, Valley senior Staci Groom shook off her four-point performance Saturday at Manchester, with 25 points against the Peru Lady Tigers.
Also for Valley, senior Tory Keirn scored 10 points, while junior Danielle Bussard had a team-high seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals.

GYMNASTICS Monday in Syracuse With the East Noble gymnastics team in town Monday night, the Wawasee Lady Warriors posted a 94.625-91.575 victory. Wawasee’s Emily Allen had the best all-around score, finishing with a 32.825. BOYS SWIMMING Saturday in Middlebury The hosting Northridge Raiders swim team dominated Saturday’s Northern Lakes Conference Championships in Middlebury, winning all 12 events. Tallying 555.5 points, Northridge won its 13th-straight NLC title, while Warsaw finished second with 335.5 points and Wawasee was fourth with 235.5. For Warsaw, freshman Jayden Parrett finished second in the 100 free and 100 breast, while freshman Spencer Davidson was second in the 100 breast. The Wawasee Warriors top individual performance was made by Zac Hershberger was third in the 100 free.
