CULVER — The Tippecanoe Valley football team opened its season with a 36-29 loss at Culver Academies Friday night. Falling behind 30-14 at the half, Valley fought back, but couldn’t overcome the deficit. In the loss, senior quarterback Ben Shriver was 12 of 25 for 211 yards, a touchdown and a rushing score, while senior receiver Tanner Andrews caught five passes for 116 yards and a score. Andrews also ran the ball eight times for 71 yards and another score. Sophomore Garrett Bell scored the Vikings’ other touchdown, it being Valley’s first of the year in the opening quarter.
