AKRON - The Indiana Department of Education and the Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. Board have approved early dismissal of students Tuesday to allow staff development activities to be conducted. Students will be dismissed after lunch at the following times: middle school, 12:15 p.m.; high school, 12:25 p.m.; and Akron and Mentone elementary schools, 12:40 p.m. Those in need of child care for Tuesday afternoon should call the child's school.
Children who normally attend kindergarten for the entire day (full day or a combination of a.m./p.m. kindergarten and extended day) will begin and end their school day the same as students in grades 1-12.
Morning kindergarten will meet at the regularly scheduled time. Afternoon kindergarten will not attend school Tuesday.
In the event of a two-hour delay, staff development activities will be cancelled and students will remain in school until their regularly scheduled dismissal time.
