YOU ARE NOTIFIED that the Lake Tippecanoe Sailing Club, c/o James Hayes, Treasurer, 16 EMS T32B LN, Leesburg, IN 46538, has made application to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Law Enforcement, under IC 14-15-7-3 and 312 IAC 5-3-1, for a permit to conduct sailboat races on Lake Tippecanoe, Leesburg, Indiana, in Kosciusko county, during the summer of 2019. The courses established for such races are used on the weekends and are described as triangle approximately three (3) miles long on the west end of Lake Tippecanoe. A second course approximately five (5) miles long runs from the west end to the east end and back again, which course is to be used only on July 23, 2019. All races are set for 6:00 p.m. on the following days: June 4, 11, 18, and 25; July 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30; August 6, 13, 20, and 27; and September 3. Any race postponed will be rescheduled for the next day or 2 days later.
Any person objecting to such an event may do either or both of the following:
A. File a petition with the central office of the division requesting an informal hearing. The petition must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years old and who reside in the county where the event will occur. A hearing under this clause is governed by 312 IAC 2-3.
B. Request the division notify the petitioner in writing when an initial determination is made to issue or deny the license. Following the receipt of notice under this clause, a petitioner may request administrative review of the determination under 312 IAC 3-1.
