Tip Leads To Arrest In Child PornA tip led to the arrest of a Claypool woman on child porn charges.
Roselyn Beatrice Burkhart, 38, of 107 N. Rebecca St., Claypool, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 12:47 p.m. Thursday for possession of child pornography. Her initial bond was set at $5,250.
A news release from the Indiana State Police states she was arrested on preliminary charges of two counts of child exploitation, a level 4 felony; possession of child pornography, a level 5 felony; and possession of child pornography, a level 6 felony.
Detective Eric Fields, a member of the ISP Crimes Against Children Task Force, began an investigation several months ago after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to the news release. The investigation led to a search warrant being served Thursday morning at Burkhart’s home, and Burkhart was taken to the jail.
The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Claypool town marshal and Department of Child Services.
No further information was available on Burkhart’s arrest.
