MILFORD - An anonymous tip by a concerned citizen led to a drug arrest Saturday afternoon.
Syracuse officer Justin Curtis and Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept. deputy Shane Bucher arrived at the Camelot Apartments, 12750 CR 250E, Milford, at approximately 1:53 p.m. and located several individuals near or inside two different vehicles. ISP Trooper Ryan McNamara also arrived with his canine unit and inspected the outside of vehicles that were present.
McNamara's canine detected a "hit" on a vehicle occupied by Kelly Kristine Yotter, 25, of 6333 CR 700S, Pierceton. Officers then searched Yotter's vehicle and located several items associated with drug usage as well as finished methamphetamine.
Yotter was arrested and preliminarily charged with possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Yotter's bond was set at $2,000.
Officers also were notified that Sean Michael Rhodes, 25, of 402 W. Section St., Milford, had an outstanding warrant from Whitley County for "failure to comply."
Rhodes was held in the Kosciusko County Jail for Whitley County officials on his warrant.
Kosciusko County Sheriff Rocky Goshert stated this was another example of local citizens simply tired of drug usage and getting involved in their community. He also reminded the public that criminal activity can be called in at either 574-267-5667, 574-457-5757, or anonymously on the TIP line at 574-372-2494.
