NORTH WEBSTER - The Warsaw boys swim team stayed undefeated by blasting Wawasee 120-66 on Friday.
The Tigers (8-0, 4-0 Northern Lakes Conference) took first in 10 of the 12 events. They took control in just the third event of the evening, the 200 individual medley. Leading 17-13, Warsaw took first and second in the 200 individual medley to go up 29-17. The Tigers maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way. Kiel Beehler won the 200 individual medley, while Evan Mock took second.
Beehler, Justin Lowrance and Adam Helfrich won two individual events each for the Tigers. Beehler won the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle. Lowrance won the 50 and 100 freestyles. Helfrich won the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Lowrance was also on Warsaw's winning 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay teams. Beehler and Helfrich were on Warsaw's 400 freestyle relay team.
Wawasee won the girls' meet 115-71. Wawasee's Laura Lundin and Laura Coutinno were each a part of four first places.
Lundin won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, while Coutinno won the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle. Lundin was also on Wawasee's winning 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams. Coutinno competed on Wawasee's winning 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams.
Wawasee's swim teams are at Plymouth at 10 this morning. Warsaw's swim teams host Northridge at 8:30 this morning. Should Warsaw's boys team beat Northridge, the Tigers would move their NLC record to 5-0 with just one NLC meet left. They won the NLC title last year.
