Warsaw Community High School football players recently organized a collection for a Columbia City player that suffered an injury last month at Fisher Field. During the season-opening game between the two schools on Aug. 23, Columbia City senior Sam Dailey became unresponsive after making a tackle on the field. He was later airlifted to a hospital in Fort Wayne. Dailey underwent multiple surgeries to relieve pressure on his brain and has since been released from rehab and is being assisted at home. Warsaw senior Gabe Furnivall expressed to WCHS Athletic Director Dave Anson that he wanted to “do something for Sam and his family,” and the Tiger secondary standout helped organize a two-day collection in the WCHS cafeteria. Area business representatives from Hall & Marose, Silveus Insurance learned of Furnivall’s effort and CEO Craig Snow provided a matching donation. The Warsaw Community High School Athletic Department would like to formally thank Furnivall, Tiger Football players and Hall & Marose, Silveus Insurance for their tremendous generosity.
