Tigers Fall At Panther PitNAPPANEE – Warsaw scored 21 points in the final quarter, but made little headway in its deficit, finally falling 56-44 at NorthWood in a Northern Lakes Conference in boys basketball game Friday night at The Pit.

The host Panthers outscored the Tigers in each of the first three quarters, taking a 36-23 lead.  NorthWood, in effect, kept pace with the Warsaw comeback effort with 20 points of its own over the final eight minutes of the contest.

Luke Adamiec went 6-of-10 fron the floor and finished with 13 points. Jalen Coon was the only other Tiger in double figures with 10 points. Brock Poe tallied nine points, Wyatt Amiss had 6, with Blake Marsh, Jackson Dawson and Jackson Gould at two points each.

Warsaw, led by Adamiec with eight karoms, outrebounded the  Panthers 39-28, and 17-7 on the offensive end.

Trent Edwards went 13-of-17 from the free thrown line on his way to a game-high 21 points for NorthWood (11-4, 3-2 NLC). Brock Flinkinger and Ben Vincent had 10 points each for the victors.

In the junior varsity contest, Cade Brenner had 19 points for Warsaw in its 49-44 win over the Panthers.

Warsaw (10-4, 3-2 NLC) hosts Elkhart Central in a non-conference contest between potential sectional foes at 7:45 p.m. today in the Tiger Den.
