CULVER – The Warsaw swim teams swept Culver Academies in a dual meet Tuesday, with the boys winning 125-58 and the Lady Tigers taking a narrow 95-91 decision. Brenna Morgan was once again a double winner for the Lady Tigers, taking the 100 and 200 freestyle races. Olivia Herman won the 50 free, Lauren Kuhl the 500 free and Delaney Wihebrink the 100 breaststroke. Warsaw also won the 100 and 200 free relays. “Pretty close meet, but I was really pleased with how they swam,” said Warsaw head coach Tony DeBrota. “They fought more toward the end than in previous dual meets. We tried some changeds for sectionals. This weel will be focused on keeping those good swim habits, like pulling strong and kicking the entire meet, consistent.” In the boys competition, Ethan Cook and Matt Wildman were double winners; Cook took the 100 and 200 free, and Wildman the 50 free and 100 breaststroke. Tyler Peseka won the diving, Hudson Snyder the 500 freestyle and Nick Zobgi the 100 backstroke. “I was hoping for better times, but they still swam well. We changed things around a little to prepare for NLC’s next week,” DeBrota said. But overall, our finishes looked faster and I saw a decent degree of determination to win. We’re looking forward to the last dual meet, and then the championship season.” The Tiger swimmers will host Columbia City and Rochester Saturday morning.
