Warsaw's girls went into the Huntington North Golf Regional on Saturday hoping to place third and advance to the state championships this week.
Instead, the Tigers came home with last place.
Warsaw coach Bob Turner guaranteed earlier in the week that Bishop Dwenger and Marion would take the top spots.
Turner knew his stuff.
As expected, Bishop Dwenger and Marion placed first and second, respectively. The third spot was filled by DeKalb.
Warsaw shot a 396 overall. Kerri Wrobel led the team with a 97 while Lara Reed and Ashley Cooper came in one stroke behind her with a 98. April Turner shot a 103, and Tosha Nance scored a 104.
Tippecanoe Valley's Brenda Rose shot a 10 on her first hole, but then she settled down and finished with a 95. Rose shot par on 48 holes this season to set a new record for Valley.
Manchester's Dorey Bungitak shot a 90, and Wawasee's Julia Wolfe shot a 111 to finish their 1998 seasons.
The top three teams and top three individuals not on those top three teams advance to the state finals held Friday and Saturday at Prestwick Country Club in Avon.
