Thursday Fire Claims Warsaw Home; Firefighter Suffers Minor Injury

Thursday Fire Claims Warsaw Home; Firefighter Suffers Minor InjuryA Warsaw home is a total loss after a five-alarm house fire Thursday evening.
North Webster Fire Department responded to 39 EMS B61J Lane, Warsaw, shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday for a report of a fully-engulfed house fire. Tankers from Syracuse, Leesburg, Winona Lake and Pierceton fire departments arrived on scene for manpower and water.
NWFD Chief Jeremy Likens said there were flames through the roof upon arrival, but the home’s occupant was not injured. A firefighter, however, did suffer minor injuries, although more information about that was not available. Likens said the firefighter hurt suffered minor injuries and did not go to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Likens said.
According to county property records, the home is owned by Jack L. Norris. The home is a total loss, but estimated damage was not calculated by Thursday night. More information will be released as it becomes available.
