SYRACUSE – Thurl Fuller, 88, of Leesburg, died Dec. 30, 2011, in Quitman, Miss.

He was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Hartford City, to John and Betty Fuller. On Aug. 21, 1941, he married Maxine Ballenger, who survives.

He spent the last 13 years between Leesburg and Quitman. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, receiving a Purple Heart for wounds suffered in action. He was a retired truck driver.

Also surviving are four sons: Phillip (and spouse Marie) Fuller, Quitman; Richard (and spouse Carol) Fuller, Milford; Bob (and spouse Mary Sue) Fuller, Wabash; and Donald (and spouse Karen) Fuller, Syracuse; two daughters, Barbara (and spouse Robert) Kirby, Lexington, S.C., and Kathy (and spouse Ernie) Wiber, Syracuse; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dolleta Caldwell, Upland, and Lena Morgan, Lamar, Ark.

Services will be private. Burial will be Wednesday in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse.
