NORTH MANCHESTER - Three students were injured Monday afternoon when a pickup truck rear-ended a Manchester Community Schools school bus at Ind. 114 and CR 300W, according to the Wabash County Sheriff's Department, who investigated the accident.
Angel R. Herford, 10, of Silver Lake, Rhiannon L. Robinson, 16, and Autumn L. Wilson, 10, both of North Manchester, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Wabash County Hospital and released.
Christopher M. Stine, 17, of Silver Lake, driver of the truck, and Dennis M. Unger, North Manchester, the school bus driver, were uninjured.
Sheriff's deputies estimated the total damage between $10,000-$25,000.
The fog and Stine's speed were factors in the accident, police said.
Manchester Community Schools Acting Superintendent Kim Thurston told the school board Tuesday he wrestled with releasing school early due to Monday's heavy fog.
