Three Nabbed In Graffiti Incident

Three teenagers were detained early Saturday morning after their alleged involvement in a string of vandalism involving profanity-laced graffiti.

County dispatch received a report at 11:54 p.m. Friday that several Warsaw businesses and homes had been "tagged" or had graffiti spray painted on them.

Three vehicles parked at Our Father's House on Argonne Road were damaged, as well as Eagle Creek Firearms, which had profanity written on the building.

Adele's Attic, also on Argonne Road, was damaged as well.

Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home on Argonne Road was vandalized as well.

Argonne Road is currently closed for construction.

A warehouse at 2312 E. Jefferson St. was spray painted as well as several vehicles and a shed behind a home on East Center Street.

While the shed was being spray painted, a neighbor witnessed three individuals with spray paint.

When the neighbor confronted the three suspects, they fled on foot.

Police from Warsaw and Winona Lake, who had been taking the numerous complaints earlier in the night, arrived and soon took three teenagers into custody.

Two of the suspected vandals were under 18 so their information is being withheld.

Anthony Scott Demske, 18, of 2905 E. Center St., was arrested at the scene for criminal mischief as well as possession of a controlled substance.His bond was set at $2,000.

The various incident reports added up to several thousand dollars worth of damage.
