Posted
Three girls from the Mentone area will compete for the 2012 Miss Mentone contest.

At 7:15 p.m. Saturday, one of the ladies will be crowned Miss Mentone on the main stage.

Competing this year are Samantha Fields, Alexis Brazo and Daianara Witham.

The winner as well as 2nd and 3rd place will be decided by a penny vote. The girl with the most pennies will win the highest title.

All of the money received from the voting will be used for community projects through the Mentone Chamber of Commerce. This year, Mentone will be putting a mural on the side of a Subway building. With this in mind, each girl knows they are helping out the community and take it very seriously.
