Three Hurt In Crash On Old 30A head-on collision on Old 30 just east of Atwood at 11:51 a.m. Tuesday resulted in injuries to three people.
Marilyn Kovacs, 46, of 1629 Hartzler St., Warsaw, was eastbound on Old 30 approaching CR 650W when her car slid on snow and ice as she entered a curve, causing the car to cross the center line.
Abbey Reichert, 21, 113 West Broadway St., Etna Green, was westbound. She tried to swerve to avoid the collision but could not.
The resulting collision extensively damaged both vehicles. Kovacs complained of chest pain and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. No information was available regarding her condition at press time.
Reichert suffered a broken leg and was flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. No information regarding her condition was available at press time.
A passenger in Reichert's vehicle, 23-year-old Einar Hagen, 113 West Broadway St., Etna Green, complained of pain to his foot and was transported to KCH. No information was available regarding his condition at press time.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Multi EMS, Etna Green Fire Department and first responders and the Atwood Fire Department were at the scene of the accident.
