Three Hospitalized in Four-Vehicle Crash

Posted
Three people were sent to Kosciusko Community Hospital following a four-vehicle accident on U.S. 30 Thursday night.
Shortly after 9:15 p.m., a white Mazda pickup truck, being driven by David P. Arnett, 72, Winona Lake, was southbound on CR 325E, crossing U.S. 30, when he was struck by Stephanie R. Barker, 17, CR 150S, Pierceton, who was eastbound on U.S. 30 in her white Toyota car. Barker then left the road into a ditch on the south side of US 30.
The third vehicle, a red Toyota car driven by Peter A. Klinker, 46, of Payne, Ohio, stopped to avoid colliding with Arnett’s pickup when he was struck from behind by a blue Ford utility truck driven by Stacey D. Butler, 35, Albion. Klinker then collided with Arnett.
Arnett was found to have cuts to the top of his head following the accident, while Baker had cuts to her face and pain in her ankle. Butler complained of pain to her head and face. All three were transported to KCH by medics. Klinker had no complaints and was released at the scene.
According to First Sergeant Chad Hill, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department public information officer, it appeared that Arnett failed to yield. KCSD investigated the scene with assistance from Warsaw Police Department.
Damages from the accident are estimated between $25,000 and $50,000.
