An early morning crash just south of Leesburg Tuesday sent two individuals to a Fort Wayne hospital today.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Deputies and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning at the intersection of Ind. 15 and CR 600N at approximately 5:45 a.m.
Leesburg Fire Department used extrication equipment to remove the drivers and one passenger from the wreckage that slowed morning commuter traffic.
KCSD investigating officers determined that Joseph A. Hettinger, 33, Warsaw, was apparently driving eastbound on CR 600N and disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of Ind. 15.
Hettinger's 2000 Lincoln collided with a northbound 1997 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Gary Weaver, 58, Warsaw. Weaver was transported to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, in serious condition, along with Hettinger's passenger, Lyndsay J. Hooley, 30, Warsaw, also in serious condition.
Hettinger was transported to KCH in fair condition with minor injuries. KCSD deputies stated that the crash is still under investigation.
