Three Face Charges After Traffic StopA traffic stop resulted in three people being charged with possession of methamphetamine late Wednesday on the southwest side of Warsaw.

The traffic stop occurred in the 1000 block of South Zimmer Road, at the intersection with Golf Heights Road. Arrested were driver Aaron Kaylan Case, 23, of 221 S. High St., Warsaw; Savannah Elizabeth Harville, 21, Wabash; and Nickolas Stewart Walters, 31, homeless.

Case and Harville  were charged with possession of meth, possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance, possession of a syringe and possession of marijuana. Walters was charged with possession of meth.

In his report, Kosciusko County Deputy Craig Summers said he was southbound on South Zimmer Road (Ind. 25) when a car with its high-beam headlights passed him going the other direction. Summers said he recognized Case from the deputy’s time working in the county jail.

Summers alleged Harville, sitting in the front passenger seat, appeared to be intoxicated. Unprompted, Harville told Summers “I’m OK” on two occasions.

Summers said, “Aaron and Savannah had a history of possessing illegal drugs on them.” He requested that a Warsaw Police Department canine officer, Cpl. Phil Reed, assist him.

The dog alerted on the car, and Summers asked all three people to exit the vehicle. Reed and Summers searched the car, and Summers’ report said they found “a clear plastic bag with a green leafy substance, another bag with crystal material in it, a small piece of burnt handmade cigarette and a clear plastic bag with seven white, oblong pills inside.” A syringe was found in the glove box.

A field test of the crystal material resulted in a positive result for meth, and the leafy material tested positive for marijuana.

Bond on all three suspects was set at $5,250.
