District Three candidates in Warsaw who are interested in replacing Ernie Wiggins on the city council have until 7 p.m. Monday to file.
Wiggins said earlier this week he plans to officially take office as mayor of Warsaw on March 1. Kosciusko County Republican chairman Mike Miner said a caucus is set for 7 p.m. Thursday in the council chambers at City Hall to select a new District Three councilman.
So far three candidates - Jim Breading, Fred Heady and Rosalee Spear - have filed for the position, Republican Party secretary and county auditor Charlene Knispel said today. Spear also is one of the two District Three precinct committee people who will make the decision.
Anyone interested in becoming a candidate should contact Knispel at her office in the county courthouse.
