Three Candidates Announce Campaign For Plain Township Advisory Board

Posted

Three local residents officially announced their candidacy for the Plain Township Advisory Board.
Democrats Becca Noftz, Brian Smith and Robert Osbun are running for three open seats on the board with a commitment to improving communication, strengthening awareness of township services and ensuring responsible stewardship of community resources, according to a provided news release.
“I’m stepping forward just as a committed member of this community who believes we can do better on transparency and accountability,” said Noftz. “With more than two decades in Warsaw’s medical device industry — leading teams, managing projects and working with government partners — I bring a practical, solutions-focused perspective and want residents to feel informed, heard and confident in how our township manages its budget and priorities.”
The candidates emphasize a practical, service-first approach to the role. Their campaign is centered on clear communication, responsible use of resources and ensuring residents feel informed and supported.
Smith highlighted the importance of bringing a fresh perspective to the board. “There’s an opportunity to look at things with new eyes and focus on practical improvements that make a real difference in people’s day-to-day lives,” Smith said.
Osbun emphasized the role of stewardship and accountability. “This position comes with a responsibility to make thoughtful decisions and follow through,” said Osbun. “It’s about making sure resources are managed wisely and consistently, with the community in mind.”
A key focus for all three candidates is ensuring residents are aware of and able to access available township resources — particularly for those who may need temporary support.
“There are times when individuals and families face unexpected challenges,” said Noftz. “Part of our role is making sure people know what help is available and can access it when they need it. That’s an important part of serving the community.”
The candidates also emphasized that local government works best when it is accessible and understandable. Their campaign will include ongoing efforts to effectively share clear, simple information about this board’s role and its impact on everyday life in Plain Township.
