The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department arrested three individuals on drug charges after responding to a meth tip near Winona Lake Sunday evening. Sheriff’s deputies, along with officers from the Winona Lake Police Department, responded to 2584 E. Sandy Drive, Warsaw, Sunday at 5:01 p.m. after receiving an anonymous tip regarding a possible meth lab. As officers approached the residence they noted the extremely strong odor associated with the production of methamphetamine, according to the release from KCSD Public Information Officer Chad Hill. Information was obtained that children were possibly inside the residence, at which point officers entered and immediately located items associated with the production of methamphetamine. Officers took the residents into custody who were later identified as Kip Dewayne Allen, 45, and Andrea Lyn Long, 36, as well as a third individual, Kaleb Hobbs, 21, Claypool. Officers also removed a five- and a ten year-old child from the residence, and had paramedics summoned to the scene from Multi-Township EMS to evaluate their conditions. Department of Child Services was also summoned to the scene by officers. Allen and Long were both arrested by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force and preliminarily charged with manufacturing methamphetamine over 3 grams, possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia, possession of precursors for methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, maintaining a common nuisance for legend drugs, and neglect of a dependent where dealing or production of a controlled substance occurred. Their bonds were set at $10,000 each. Hobbs was arrested and preliminarily charged with possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia, manufacturing methamphetamine over 3 grams, possession of precursors for methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, visiting a common nuisance, and on an active probation violation warrant issued from Kosciusko County. Hobbs’ bond was set at $15,000 and all individuals are currently being held in the Kosciusko County Jail. The drug task force was also assisted with the investigation by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
