CLAYPOOL – Claypool police served a search warrant on a suspected drug house Thursday that resulted in the arrest of three people.
According to Claypool Town Marshal Ben Sanders, at 9:30 a.m. Thursday Claypool police acted on a tip that possible illegal drug activity was occurring at 201 E. Calhoun St., Claypool.
Sanders said several people reported suspicious activity to the Claypool Police Department that was occurring at the home, along with an additional anonymous tip received by NET 43. With that information, CPD and NET 43 officers began a drug investigation and executed a search warrant.
During the search of the home, police located drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and syringes.
Paul Berkey, no age listed, is being charged with maintaining a common nuisance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe for a legend drug and possession of paraphernalia.
Anthony S. Milton and Andrew M. Taylor, no ages and addresses provided, are each facing one charge of visiting a common nuisance.
Sanders said formal criminal charges are being considering by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, and the investigation is ongoing with possible future arrests.
CPD was assisted by the Narcotics Enforcement Team of Kosciusko County (NET 43), Silver Lake Police Department, Mentone Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
