Effective July 29, Rande Thorpe, Warsaw Community Schools' finance manager, is resigning.
The resignation was submitted and accepted at Monday's school board meeting. However, it was not announced at the meeting and information on Thorpe's resignation was not released to the press until today.
Thorpe has taken the position of assistant superintendent, business services, in Sonora, Calif.
Other personnel changes voted on but not made public until today include Willis E. Wienhorst, head girls basketball coach at Warsaw Community High School, resigning as business teacher; Dennis VanDuyne, moving from technology director to assistant principal at Lakeview Middle School; and Tony Etienne, formerly principal of Claypool Elementary, to be the director of vocational programming for the Warsaw Area Career Center. Etienne's four-day-a-week contract was approved.
