LEESBURG – Thomas W. “Tom” Madden, 73, Leesburg, passed away at 6 a.m. July 13, 2014, at I.U. Goshen Hospital. He was born June 28, 1941, in Ligonier, to Clive and Rose Seprich Madden. He attended public schools in Chicago and lived in the Ligonier/Leesburg area for past 35 years after moving there from Chicago. He formerly owned and operated The Keg in Leesburg for 20 years, pulled recreational vehicles for Hoosier Transit in Nappanee for 10 years, worked at Monsanto in Ligonier and Goldblatts in Chicago. Surviving are three daughters: Monica (and spouse Brian) Marr, Fox Lake, Ill.; Deanna (and spouse Roy) Gentile, Ingleside, Ill.; Melinda Madden, Leesburg; a son, Patrick Thomas Madden, Bridgeview, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou (and spouse Robert) Roberts, Warsaw, and Rita Madden, Blue Island, Ill.; a brother, Richard (and spouse Elaine) Madden, Leesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, with Shane Madden officiating. ***** Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
