Thomas S. Ludwig, 82, Warsaw, passed away at 5:55 p.m. July 22, 2014, at his residence.
He was born July 17, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Robert and Evelyn Anderson Ludwig. On Nov. 29, 1952, in West Allis, Wis., he married Barbara Gehling, who survives in Warsaw.
He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4th Degree Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post #49, all of Warsaw. He retired from Navistar International, Fort Wayne, in 1994.
Also surviving are three sons: Michael (and spouse Nancy) Ludwig, Indianapolis; John (and spouse Teresa) Ludwig, Warsaw; Robert (and spouse Kristin) Ludwig, St. John; one daughter, Laura (and spouse Matthew) Gillis, Warsaw; one sister, Barbara Lee, New Berlin, Wis.; and eight grandchildren: Luke Gillis; Sam (and spouse Eileen) Gillis; Jackson, Anna, Jordyn, Aaron, Emily and Madeline Ludwig. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Ludwig.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by the American Legion Post #49, VFW Post #1126, both of Warsaw, and the Military Funeral Honor Guard.
Calling is one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
