Technicians from SRI International - a National Weather Service contractor - are conducting several tests in Kosciusko County this week. The team is attempting to determine the best site for the recently approved NEXRAD weather radar station. The radar site testing vehicle and equipment pictured were at CR 850N and Ind. 13, north of North Webster on Monday and today. The team will move to a location about a third of a mile east of CR 450E on the south side of CR 100N on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, the team will move to a site in Noble County, at the intersection of CR 200N and CR 900W. The NWS will use data collected by SRI to help determine which of the three sites will be home to the new severe weather warning system.
