SYRACUSE – Theo J. Thomas, 84, of Syracuse, died at 5:50 a.m. May 11, 2011, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Wolf Lake, to Carlton L. and Edna Galloway Thomas.
He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated from Syracuse High School in 1945. He formerly worked at Brock Bins, Milford, for several years and at Weatherhead Corp, Syracuse, for 20 years. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse.
Surviving are a daughter, Beckie Thomas, South Bend; a son, Carl (and spouse Becky) Thomas, Mishawaka; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, DeWitt Thomas, Syracuse; and his lifetime companion, Phyllis Weaver, Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor David Herr officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
