Thelma May Kammerer

MILFORD – Thelma May Kammerer, 100, Warsaw, and formerly of Leesburg, passed away Sept. 17, 2014, at Grace Village Retirement Community.
She was born Feb. 21, 1914, in Kosciusko County, to Ralph and Mary Byrer Tumbleson. On Oct. 19, 1956, she married Al Kammerer, who preceded her in death in 1992.
She lived in Kosciusko County her entire life, graduating from Atwood High School. She was a homemaker, as well as a cook for Leesburg School for many years. She was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, Leesburg Travelers Club and the Tri-Arts Club.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip (and spouse Marva) Kammerer, Muncie, and Jerry (and spouse Cindy) Kammerer, Leesburg; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, George “Jim” Coon; a daughter, Georgia Bray; a great-granddaughter, Shantel Miles; one sister, Ethel Vandermark; and a brother, Ralph Tumbleson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, with Pastor Rob Seewald officiating. Burial is in Milford Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
