Though Warsaw and Kosciusko County have avoided some of the heavier snowfalls projected for the state, the area will get significant snowfall by tomorrow.
Mike Sabones, National Weather Service meteorologist at the Syracuse office, said he expects snowfall to come down at a half-inch rate per hour until tonight. And residents won't just have snow to contend with.
"It's going to get windier tonight and into tomorrow," said Sabones.
Sabones said the forecast of 8 to 12 inches of snowfall for the area hasn't changed.
"Though there's a chance it may be closer to 8 inches," said Sabones.
He said that while, as of this morning, the snowfall was steady, people should be careful about traveling.
"We're getting a little dry air from the southwest which may make it look like we missed it," said Sabones. "But this is a large system and we're going to get snow."
Sabones said the system is quite large and will stretch from Mississippi to the East Coast.
Washington, D.C., is expected to get another round of heavy snow today and into tomorrow.
