The Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts announced it will present the musical revue "The Little Things You Do Together" at the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw on April 15 at 2 p.m.Compiled by Chicago musical director Mark Elliott, the revue takes a look at relationships and what makes them so frustrating yet so satisfying. The show follows the "four seasons" of young love, marriage, discontent and reconciliation as told through songs from many different musicals.
Mark Elliott teaches musical theatre performance at The Theatre School, DePaul University, Chicago. He is the composer-in-residence and resident musical director there.
He has provided musical direction for more than 100 productions for theatres such as the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Candlelight Dinner Playhouse, Roosevelt University, Fox Theatricals, Centerlight Theatre, and Apple Tree Theatre, among many others. He has served as musical director for the annual Joseph Jefferson Awards (the Chicago version of the Tony Award) and Joseph Jefferson Citations (for non-union theatre) on several occasions. He has composed original scores and incidental music for nearly 50 productions.
Cast members for "The Little Things You Do Together" include professional theatre veterans Dan and Jennifer Loftus. Jennifer was most recently seen in "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" at the Artists' Ensemble Theatre in Rockford, and in "Waiting For The Parade" at Illinois Theatre Center.
Dan Loftus has appeared in numerous productions in the Chicago area and was most recently seen in "Fiorello" at Timeline Theatre and "Dessa Rose" at Apple Tree Theatre in the roles of Sheriff Pine and Robert Steele.
The Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts was established in 1990 to support and foster performing arts and artists in a manner which brings glory to God. The series is named for the Rodeheaver family, known for their development and support of Christian music, and long-time members of the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw. The Rodeheaver Series has sponsored more than 55 concerts, recitals and theatrical presentations to date.
All programs sponsored by the Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts are free of charge and are presented for the enjoyment and cultural nourishment of all the area's residents. Goodwill offerings will be accepted. Additionally, all programs of the Rodeheaver Series are held at the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw at 179 S. Indiana St., and are accessible to the physically challenged via ramp or elevator.
