The Grove Coffee Collective celebrated their move and rebranding with an official ribbon cutting Friday, Nov. 7 at their new shop inside Bakehouse 23 in downtown Warsaw.
The Grove Coffee Collective has mugs, tumblers and even some items from other sellers in the community.
The Grove Coffee Collective is co-owned by three people who share a passion for community, and for coffee: Joshua and Renee LaRue, and Kayla Fletcher.
The Grove officially opened on Oct. 24, after the closing of LaRue’s other coffee shop, Wire & Steam, on Oct. 11.
“Josh had Wire & Steam, and he wanted to move and rebrand,” stated Fletcher. “I came on board, and bought half of the business. We also needed a bigger space to do more baking, and it just became a perfect relationship with Bakehouse.”
Fletcher stated that both she and LaRue are Whitko graduates, which is how they came to know each other.
Along with coffee, the partnering with Bakehouse 23 has given a way for The Grove to sell more baked goods. They have also recently introduced “The Special,” which is The Grove’s and Bakehouse’s way of helping out their fellow neighbors during these hard times. The Grove is giving hot coffee or milk to children, and the Bakehouse is giving baked oatmeal or bread pudding to help those who need it.
“We’ve had several people come in to get 'The Special,' and to donate, which is fantastic,” Fletcher said. “We are using the proceeds to not only do the baked oatmeal, but we are adding soup for the evening, and we are stocking the pantry.”
The Law Office of Travis McConnell has a pantry that the Grove and Bakehouse are helping to supply, and the bathrooms at the Grove and Bakehouse are stocked with toiletries, diapers, feminine products or anything someone could need.
“We appreciate the support more than anything. We truly do, and we love the community in Warsaw. We are so happy to see the same faces, day in and day out. It brings an immense amount of joy,” stated Fletcher.
