Terry V. Halfacre

Terry V. Halfacre, 62, Warsaw, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Jan. 7, 2014, at his residence.
He was born April 22, 1951, in Batesville, Ark., to Clark D. and Merle Sullivan Halfacre. On March 26, 1982, in Warsaw, he married Deb Carruth, who survives.
He had lived in California until after high school. He then moved to Indiana. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for several years at Donnelley and Sons Inc., Warsaw, and was involved with the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He would tell Draven and Maddie, “Grandpa loves you more than chocolate milk” in which they would respond back in kind.
Also surviving are four children: Andrew (and spouse Laura) Halfacre, Warsaw; Kristi (and spouse Daniel) Ferrell, Georgia; Jason Halfacre, and Wendy (and spouse Eric) Durkee, both of California; six grandchildren: Draven, Maddie, Dereck (and spouse Asjia) and Maegan Ferrell, Sebastian Halfacre and Tj O'Brien; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Makayla Hughes; his mother, Merle Bean, Arkansas; two brothers, Steve (and spouse Vicki) Halfacre, Tennessee and Tim Halfacre, Arkansas; three sisters: Christina Lynn (and spouse Brian) Breeden, Warsaw; Lori Halfacre (and spouse Jeff) Conley, Georgia; and Cherita Quintana, California; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father.
Services are at 1 p.m. Jan. 18 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel with Shane Rager officiating, and also military honors provided by American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. Post 1126, Warsaw. A private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
